About Charles P. Rogers
Charles P. Rogers began this company with one idea in mind, to make the finest beds available. Since 1855, we’ve been doing just that. As a small, focused company that manufactures everything we sell, we offer a unique experience in modern furniture shopping. Why you may ask…..??
*We love beds and that’s what we make. Because of our specialization, we spend the most time in the industry designing, testing and thinking about your bed. We almost never think of dining chairs or the thousands of other pieces of furniture to make. We know that a bed is by far the most important piece of furniture in the house because great things happen there. The sleep, reading, love and conversation to take us through another day.
*We love details. Beds are not just beds to us. They are as much a canvas as canvas to us and it’s in these details we try to make a difference. While all beds may look similar to some people, we see details clearly because we understand the manufacturing, the use of materials and have a very sure sense of our aesthetics after so many years of bringing the beauty. We consistently evaluate proportion, function and decoration when designing a bed. When we hand forge a bed we think about the overall shape, the marks of the tool, and the feel the worked piece will bring to the design. We do it even if it uses more materials or time, because the details make a bed right.
*We use the finest materials we can get our hands on. And sometimes that’s not easy. We carefully select and kiln dry our own premium quality wood and use the finest American cherry and plantation grown Mahogany available. Upholstery leathers are all top grain, selected from large clear hides and dyed to our demanding color specifications. Our sophisticated bed linens are high thread count, exclusively woven from premium quality yarns of European linen and Egyptian cotton. Linen patterns are all woven in not simply printed. For our brass items we use heavy wall, pure cartridge brass, made in the U.S, Japan or Germany.
*We use traditional manufacturing techniques that make things beautiful. There are plenty of production techniques to make things faster and cheaper, but unless it makes better we stick with the right techniques. For instance our iron beds are entirely hand forged and decorative parts are solid cast metal. We use hand carved wooden patterns from our original archives to create sand molds and pour molten metal directly onto the iron framework. Our castings are strong, precise and retain the details that make them charming and unique. Likewise our wood beds are consistently detailed with sharp tools by skilled craftsmen who impart the handwork that ordinary machining cannot.
* Price. Oh yes, price. We have manufacturer direct pricing that makes buying a top quality bed affordable. Really. Apples and Oranges.

I am a very unhappy customer right now. I purchased the Campaign Daybed in July of 2006. In July of 2007, I had to return the one arm to be rewelded, Now the two supporting bars of the top spring have snapped. After many phone calls with Raquel (E. Rutherford) and Linda (NYC), I still do not believe that what Raquel told me yesterday, October 23rd, is the best solution. Please get back to me at 973-919-1014. Thank you.
Sincerely
Phyllis Nardelli
